Acceptable use is always ethical, reflects academic honesty, and shows restraint in the consumption of shared resources. It demonstrates respect for intellectual property, ownership of data, system security mechanisms, and individuals' rights to privacy. Additionally, the privilege of accessing the college's computer networks carries certain responsibilities for all users of desktop and laptop computing systems. These include, but are not limited to, performing required operating system updates, ensuring proper anti-virus software is installed and periodically run, maintaining adequate data backups and protecting the systems integrity.
