Students who carpool (two or more people) can park close to the center of campus in D Lot! Don't have a carpool partner? No problem! HCC's partnership with MassRIDES (888) 426-6688) gives you access to TripMATCH, where you can find HCC students or employees to travel with. Sign-up is FREE at www.commute.com/tripmatch. New travelers are added to the database monthly.
Got your riders? Enter through E Lot to access D Lot. The parking attendant will confirm that there is a student parking sticker on the car and two or more people in the car. Take your pick of 142 designated parking spaces, and enjoy the short stroll to class. You've reduced carbon emissions, cut your gas $ in half or more, and with the time you've saved, you can grab a coffee or finish the paper that's due in an hour. Does it get any better?
The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) provides bus transportation to HCC from throughout the Pioneer Valley. All HCC students pay a $20 per semester transportation fee which provides a bus pass for unlimited PVTA bus service during the fall and spring semesters. The PVTA bus pass is valid for the entire semester on any bus route in the PVTA system. Pick up PVTA bus passes at the Student Account Services office in Frost 201. These passes must be used with a valid HCC student ID card which must be validated each semester in the Student Account Services office. The replacement fee for a lost or stolen pass is $7.
HCC is served from Springfield by the Purple 11 PVTA bus, from Westfield by the Blue 233 PVTA bus, and from Northampton and Easthampton by the Red 41 PVTA bus. PVTA bus schedules are available online at www.pvta.com or at the HCC switchboard in the lobby of the Frost Building.
The college operates La Guagua Pa'l College, a free evening shuttle bus service for students between city-center Holyoke and surrounding neighborhoods, and HCC. During fall and spring semesters, the bus runs Monday-Thursday on the half hour, starting at 5:00 p.m. when PVTA service ends, and ending at 10:00 p.m. For schedule and route information, click here or pick up a brochure in the Welcome Center.
