Favorite thing about teaching:
Student interaction and promotion of student active learning. I especially like teaching interdisciplinary learning communities that integrate two academic courses together and promote collaborative learning and team teaching.  Connecting science with literature and building academic and social communities of active learners is exciting and fun.

Memorable moment at HCC:
Being a cast member of the HCC College Players' productions of The Taming of the Shrew and The Laramie Project. In an emergency, teaching ENG 213 - Modern Drama was a delightfully transforming experience.
