TIME: 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

HCC will welcome state Sen. Jo Comerford, Holyoke mayor Alex Morse, state Rep. Aaron Vega, HCC president Christina Royal and members of the HCC community for a discussion, "Funding the Future of Public Education in Holyoke."

Hear from our local leaders, ask questions and find answers.

This event, sponsored by the HCC Chapter of the Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC) and the HCC Library,  is open to HCC and and members of the Holyoke community.

In 2014, the Higher Education Finance Commission found that public colleges and universities in Massachusetts are underfunded by $574 million a year. For Holyoke Community College, that amounts to $9,688,141 a year. As a result of the decrease in the per pupil state allocations, student debt has exploded and resources have been stretche.

Faculty are encouraged to bring their students to this event. Please RSVP to jadams@hcc.edu.
