Accomplishments (personal or professional):
I am proud of my 25-year career as a teaching professional and the
contribution I have made to the College and to the community which
it serves. I have served as Acting Dean of the Business Division,
as Chair of the Information Management cluster for the past 12 years,
and have successfully co-chaired the committee for re-accreditation
of Holyokd Community College by NEASC. Personally, I have been an
avid skier my whole life and hope to continue into old age.
Favorite thing about teaching:
I love to hear success stories about the students I taught and how
they used the skills learned in my classes to improve their professional
and personal lives. I am flattered when students ask for my help
and advice and enjoy seeing them get excited about their education.
I especially enjoy seeing the sense of wonder and accomplishment
that non-traditional students exhibit when they realize that they
have what it takes to be a successful college student.
Memorable moment at HCC:
When students realize that they have become life-long learners and
continue their education to the Bachelor's level and beyond. That
there is a whole new world out there!!!
Teaching philosophy:
Education is the springboard to success; take advantage of every
opportunity to open your mind to new ideas and to the world around
you.
