FAFSA Workshops 2014

We're here to help! HCC's Financial Aid Office is holding workshops to help HCC students file their FAFSAs by HCC's May 1, 2014 Priority Deadline. Gather your information and join us for one of the sessions, below.

Students must also register for classes and return all requested financial aid application materials by June 30th to be eligible for the best possible award.

What Information Do You Need When Filling Out the FAFSA?

You should have the following information and documents with you as you fill out the FAFSA.

Here's a checklist!

❏ Your Social Security number and and your parent's Social Security number if you are providing parental information.

❏ Your Alien Registration number if you are not a U.S. citizen

❏ Federal tax information or tax returns including IRS W-2 information, for yourself (and
spouse, if you are married), and for your parents if you are providing parental information.

• If you have not yet filed an income tax return, complete and submit the FAFSA using
estimated tax information.

• Use income records for the year prior to the academic year for which you are applying:
for instance, if you are filling out the 2013-14 FAFSA, you will need 2012 tax
information, if you are filling out the 2014-15 FAFSA, you will need 2013 tax information.

❏ Records of untaxed income, such as child support received, interest income, and veterans' non-education benefits, for yourself (and spouse, if you are married), and for your parents if you are providing parental information.

❏ Information on cash; savings and checking account balances; investments, including rental
property; and business and farm assets for yourself (and spouse, if you are married), and for your parents if you are providing parental information.
