HCC’s mission is
to open the doors of opportunity for area residents. We are the
premier Massachusetts community college providing the best start
at the best value for students. We have excellent faculty and a
committed support network to make your educational experience a
success whether you are interested in a single course or a full
degree. Toward that
end, the College has an open admissions policy for most of its
programs.
What Do I Need?
In general, one of the
following is needed for admission:
• a high school diploma
• a General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
• an ability-to-benefit test.
Some programs have additional admissions requirements. Qualified
high school students may also enroll at HCC through the College’s
Early admissions program.
Applicants must be beyond
the age of compulsory high school attendance in Massachusetts, sixteen
years of age or older. A parent/legal guardian signature is required
on the application for all applicants under eighteen years of age.
When Can I Start?
HCC has a rolling admissions
policy: as completed applications and required credentials are received,
decisions are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students may begin their course work for most programs in Fall
(September) or Spring (January). For some programs, beginning in
the spring semester may require adjustments in course sequences.
The Nursing,
Practical
Nursing, Rad
Tech, Veterinary and Animal Science (Career) Programs
do not accept students for the spring semester. Please refer to
the applications for specific information on transfer policies for
these programs
What is Residency Status?
Residency status is a determining factor
in calculating Tuition and Educational Service Fees. More about
