Medical & Health Career Exploration (ages 12-16)

Ever wanted to work in a hospital? How about taking X-rays to see inside the human body or using microscopes to analyze blood and tissue samples? Curious about First Aid, CPR and keeping people healthy? Join us in this week long guided exposure to the many nursing and allied health programs in higher education. Learn about tools to see inside the body, assessing health, how the body heals itself, replacement parts, the healthy heart, working with infants, what happens when cells function wrong and important issues in health care. Explore DNA and the body's building blocks. An eye-opening opportunity that you'll never forget-while we have fun.

Real World Criminal Investigations (ages 11-14)
August 4-8
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Taught by HCC faculty and local police officials, youth will receive hands-on experience along with history and evolution of the law enforcement field. Students will interact with Criminal Justice practitioners from law enforcement, corrections, probation and parole, and the courts. Your child will learn about and be directly engaged in the process of crime scene investigation, collecting evidence, fingerprint analysis, and learning about how forensic sciences support solving crimes. Join us for this incredible, memorable experience. Program Coordinator Monica Perez, Dean of Social Sciences at HCC has over 20 years' experience in Criminal Justice locally. Instructor Chief (Retired) Louis Barry served with the Orleans, MA Police Department for ten years as a patrol officer, Detective, and Sergeant as well as providing leadership to the Granby, MA Police Department for 24 years.
