HCC Kicks Butt!
As of August 13, 2012, Holyoke Community College is entirely smoke free. Smoking is no longer allowed anywhere on campus. In this effort, HCC joins hundreds of other colleges and universities around the country that have also gone smoke free. Please join us in this campaign as we raise awareness about the health benefits to everyone of having a smoke-free campus.
The decision to establish a smoke-free campus reflects HCC's commitment to provide an accessible, safe and healthy environment in which to learn and work. HCC will provide a variety of resources, including counseling and nicotine cessation products, for those who want to quit.
Smoking is prohibited everywhere on the Holyoke Community College campus, indoors and on the grounds, except in private vehicles.
Here you'll find answers to questions like, why is HCC going smoke free, how will the policy be enforced and where can I get help?
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, 70 percent of adult smokers want to quit and 40 percent try to quit every year.
