The Massachusetts Export Center operates at Holyoke Community College
under the auspices of the Small Business Development Center at the
University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Export Center’s mission
is to meet the complex needs of exporters by developing and providing
services to help businesses export with the advice of a statewide
network of international trade professionals. Services include:
• international market research and assessment
• export counseling
• technical assistance
• international business development assistance
• training programs for exporters
• trade publications for exporters
The Mass Export Center is affiliated with several federal and state
agencies that also provide consultation to exporters. Those agencies
include the:
• Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment
• U.S. Department of Commerce
• U.S. Department of State
• U.S. Department of Agriculture
• U.S. Small Business Administration
The efforts of the Mass Export Center have been fruitful. In 2003,
the Export Center assisted 1629 companies. These companies collectively
realized a $22.5 million increase
in export sales as a direct result of this assistance.
