Our accounting programs encompass foundational business courses as well as specialized accounting courses.

Do you have a way with numbers? Are you looking for a way to work with businesses large and small? Explore HCC's accounting programs to prepare for entry to the workforce, or transfer to a four-year school.

HCC offers an associate degree in Accounting, and an Accounting Certificate.

The A.S. in Accounting equips students to analyze and interpret basic financial statements, evaluate accounting data, and integrate the disciplines of accounting and management and evaluate accounting data. Upon graduating from this program, students will possess the skills needed to secure a full-charge bookkeeper position. Students interested in continuing their education will find that many colleges and universities accept program courses for transfer into baccalaureate accounting programs.

The Accounting Certificate prepares students to pursue entry-level employment in the field of accounting. Credits earned through the certificate program may also be applied toward the A.S. in Accounting. The majority of the certificate program requirements may be taken online. Upon graduating from this program, students will be able to analyze and record accounting transactions, accurately prepare financial statements, and operate accounting information systems.

Please note: The accounting certificate cannot be completed in one year.
