Foundations in Culinary Arts



PREREQUISITES: Co-requisites: ENG 085 and MTH 075

A course designed to engage prospective students in the basic skills necessary for college-level study in the culinary arts by providing them with an opportunity to experience some of the many aspects of a culinary career. Emphasis will be on developing skills in measurement, reading and interpreting recipes, basic cooking techniques, and an awareness of food as both a sensory experience and a means of cultural expression through a combination of demonstrations, hands-on experience, and field visits to settings in which the culinary arts are practiced. Credits earned in this course do not count toward credits required for graduation.Co-requisites: ENG 085 and MTH 075
