A support program for men of color, the ALANA Men in Motion mentoring program provides personalized attention, academic support, mentoring, counseling, networking and community-building.
ABE Transition to College & Careers (ABE TCC) is a free, non-credit program offered both day and evenings that helps students 18+ prepare for college and identify a career path. Includes intensive academic preparation in English reading and writing, math, study strategies and computers in a college context in a supportive learning community environment. Bilingual student support, career counseling, tutoring and mentoring are integral parts of our program.

If you are a new student who has come to HCC for an Associate's Degree, the First Year Experience (FYE) program can help you excel. It is designed to help you successfully transition to college and achieve your academic goals. You'll be part of a cohort of liberal arts students who have access to an FYE advisor, as well as FYE Learning Communities and courses.
Multicultural Academic Services (MAS) supports students from diverse backgrounds, including those who have participated in Avanza2College or are enrolled in HCC's ESL program. Our purpose is to nurture a community of learners and support students in developing the skills needed to succeed in college and beyond.
If you are a strong, committed student from an underrepresented group or a veteran, the Pathways Program can help you excel at HCC-and then transfer to a selective four-year college. Pathways offers free academic and personal support services to qualified students.
A federally funded TRIO program, STRIVE provides ongoing academic and personal assistance to students who are first generation to college or low-income or have a documented disability.
New Directions is a free support program designed to help non-traditional female students age 24 and older, including young mothers and veterans. It offers a range of services to help you succeed. You'll be encouraged to pursue your goals and learn about opportunities for transferring to four-year colleges.
