Free training opportunity for unemployed individuals. Get the skills and certifications you need to build a winning resume. Get the help and contacts you need to get a good job and get on the pathway to a new career.

Nine-week, 20-hours-per-week training program leading to jobs like: 

  • Food preparer
  • Line cook
  • Server
  • Wait staff
  • Bartender
  • Host/hostess
  • Hotel worker
requirements

Must be currently unemployed or underemployed, willing to attend regularly and on time, able to work well with others and to achieve satisfactory scores on a placement test.

preferred requirements

A valid driver's license; access to a motor vehicle; availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends; a clean CORI; a high school diploma or equivalent. (Preferred requirements are not required for acceptance.)

job placement assistance

We are currently working with over two dozen local employers anxious to hire qualified graduates.

certificates earned

ServSafe for managers and food handlers; TIPS for serving beverages; OSHA-10 for safety; and National Career Readiness for job preparedness.

Jan. 16 – March 20, 2018

Classes will be offered in Holyoke and Springfield through a grant from the Commonwealth Corporation to Holyoke Community College working in conjunction with Springfield Technical Community College as Training & Workforce Options.
