It began with a dream:

Just two years ago, 27-year-old Alisha Desnoyers didn't think of herself as exceptionally talented. Today, she is compiling an extraordinary body of work as she pursues her passion for filmmaking. And it all began with a dream.

"I had a dream one day-not a goal, an actual dream," she explained. A few days after the dream, she had the opportunity to use video editing software. "It honestly felt like breathing for the first time," she said.

Meaningful encounters:

Enrolling at HCC in the Media Arts program, she formed strong relationships with Professors Jay Ducharme and Justin West, who she credits with helping her gain a deeper understanding of the technical aspects of electronic media, specifically audio, Flash and Photoshop.

After HCC:

Desnoyers is looking into film programs at Mount Holyoke College and Hampshire College. Recently, a number of requests have come in to create music videos for some local bands as well as commercials for area businesses. "I'm loving the opportunities and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me! " she said.
