The HCC Archives collects, preserves, and makes available for research materials of enduring historic value created by the HCC community. The archives maintains the historic memory of the college beginning with the founding in 1946 through to the present day.
The materials housed in the archives range in scope from photographs of the campus, faculty/staff and students, and events; official publications created by administrative and academic departments, student organizations, and institutional development; newspaper clippings and scrapbooks; programs from annual celebrations, ceremonies, and dedications; and various personal papers and writings of HCC faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
In addition to the college archival records, the archives also maintains a collection of local history which provides information about the cities, towns, counties, schools, industry, architecture, and geography of Western Massachusetts. There is also a small collection of Massachusetts state documents that relate to HCC as a state institution of higher education.
