Alan Wolejko

Wolejko enters his fifth year as Head Coach of Women's Basketball at Holyoke
Community College. He is responsible for the resurrection of the college's program
after an 11-year hiatus. He has 29 years of basketball coaching experience at
the college and high school levels. Prior to HCC, Wolejko spent three years
as Head Coach of the Westfield State College men's team. Prior to Westfield
he was the head coach at the Stockbridge College at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Further, he worked as assistant coach at U-Mass (1983-1988) and at North Adams
State College (MCLA) from 1972-1973.
Before collegiate coaching he coached Northampton High from 1990-1992 and Smith Academy from 1976-1983. While at Smith Academy he was named MIAA District Coach of the Year winner in 1979 and 1983. He's earned the President's Award from the Massachusetts State Basketball Association for outstanding contributions.
Wolejko played his college basketball at North Adams State College from 1969-1972 where he was a four-year starter, and team captain in 1971 and 1972. He lead the Mohawks in scoring and rebounding in 1970 and 1972, earning the scholar award in 1972. After college Wolejko moved onto the professional ranks where he played in the American Basketball Association for the Memphis Pro's (1972) and for the Virginia Squires (1973).
Assistant Coach Biney Lynskey joins the team as first assistant coach this seasonl. Lynskey played for the Cougars in the 2001-2002 seasons, earning team Most Valuable Player and All New England honors. She still holds the team record for most free throws in one game with 12 in a game against Massasoit in the 2001-02 season. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from American International College. Her duties include working with Wolejko to plan and administer team practices, and coordinating recruiting, and administration of the teams physical conditioning program.
