Recreational: Softball

Playing Rules

• Games will start on time. Warm-ups should be done before scheduled start time, and out of play if there is another team on the field.

• Games will be timed. No new inning will start after 75 minutes after SCHEDULED start time.

• Pitching will be slow pitch with at least six foot and no greater than twelve foot arc. There will be no umpires--teams must play "gentlemen's rules". This is a hitter's game - if the pitcher cannot throw a hittable pitch he/she should be replaced.

• Each batter gets only two pitches to put the ball into play. Two strikes and you are out. Two fouls and you are out.

• No stealing. Runners cannot leave a base until the ball is hit.

• Ten fielders on the field. A team may play with no fewer than eight players.

• No collisions. Deliberate contact will be an automatic out.
