HCC’s Student Government
Association (SGA) consists of an Executive Board (President, Executive
VP and Secretary), a cabinet of three Vice Presidents’ (Academic
Affairs, Student Affairs, and Club Administration and Finance),
and a General Assembly.
The SGA acts as a conduit
between students and the administration, voicing concerns, resolving
problems and seeking input.
All HCC students (in good
academic standing) can serve as senators. Elections for the Fall
are held on the first Wednesday in May. While most Executive Board
positions are filled then, students can continue to join the SGA
through mid-semester (both Fall and Spring) by completing a Nomination
Form and acquiring 30 signatures.
Meetings are held every
Wednesday at 2:30 p.m..
The SGA Offices are located in Fronahue; the phone is
(413) 552-2522, (413) 552-2293, or (413) 552-2418.
The SGA welcomes everyone
who wants to make a difference, work for students, and help sustain
an inclusive, safe, and active campus for all.
HCC’s Board of Trustees
has one student member. Elected in May, this student serves a one-year
term beginning in July. The Student Trustee represents all HCC students
in “big picture” decision-making. The Trustee works
closely with the SGA and other student leaders to elicit information
and improve communication.
Board meetings are held
every fourth Tuesday at 8am.
