Sixty-Fifth Commencement
Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10 a.m.
Graduating students may pick up caps and gowns at the HCC bookstore. The cost of your cap and gown are covered in student fees; there is no additional charge for cap and gown. Please remember to bring a photo ID: you must have an ID to get your cap and gown.
Phi Theta Kappa students: if you wish to purchase a Phi Theta Kappa sash, the cost is $25.
The bookstore is open Monday-Friday 8:30 am -3:45 pm.
Commencement Speakers
Fabiola Alouidor is a Biology major who will attend Mount Holyoke College in the fall.
Alycia Piedra is a Psychology major who will attend the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in the fall.
2012 Elaine Marieb Faculty Chair for Teaching Excellence
This award recognizes a full-time faculty member with five or more years of service who exemplifies outstanding classroom teaching. The award was founded in 1991, by Elaine Marieb, HCC professor of anatomy and physiology. The award recognizes the professional development, skills, and dedication to student learning that HCC faculty bring to the classroom. This year's recipient is Kate Maiolatesi, professor of Sustainability Studies.
Presentation of the Class Gift
Ruthie May Therrien, a Criminal Justice major who will attend Westfield State University in the fall, will present the gift of the Class of 2012.
Distinguished Service Awards
Each year, the college recognizes the achievements of individuals whose dedication and outstanding service to HCC have enhanced the value of the undergraduate experience and improved the quality of life for all on campus.

This is a series of student profiles that we send to the local media to showcase the diversity and excellence of our 2012 graduates.
