It could have been called Espresso Express, Thanks a Latte or the Percolating Arts Cafe, but in the end the name Forum Cafe won out. The new coffee kiosk located in the lobby outside the Leslie Phillips Theater was officially dedicated Wednesday, March 21, in a low-key ribbon-cutting ceremony.
President Bill Messner cut the ribbon, flanked by other HCC staff, including Mark Pronovost, head of Aramark Dining Services, which runs the cafe. Patrons were treated to free samples of the cafe's trademark pastries, delivered fresh every day from New York. The cafe features the same Java City coffee found at the POD and the HCC cafeteria, but the Forum Cafe uses freshly ground beans and has nearly two dozen hot and cold beverage options on its menu. For March, the cafe is offering Red Velvet Latte and Ultimate Vanilla Latte as its monthly specials. The cafe also sells bottled water and juice and will soon be introducing Italian sodas and pomegranate juice.
The Forum Cafe's hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
