Memorial Day 5k Race

The college's first Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk Challenge drew a crowd of more than 100 and raised funds for equipment and programming for HCC's new veteran's center, thanks to an enthusiastic crew of volunteers and participants. The event was dedicated to John "Jack" Doyle, a Korean War Veteran and long-time member of the Holyoke Community College Foundation, who passed away on May 14. Doyle was proud of HCC's support of its student veterans and the establishment of "The Bunker," the college's veteran's center, which serves veteran and active duty students as well as veteran faculty and staff.
Thanks to all who worked to make this event a success, and congratulations to faculty members Laura Hutchinson and Alex Sanchez, who placed at the top and near top of their respective divisions!
