A center to promote technology literacy in the community is opening in downtown Holyoke. The Thomas Gill III Community Technology Center will open with a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, September 21, at 10 a.m. at the Holyoke Transportation Center, 206 Maple Street.

When Bitian Zhang came to Massachusetts from China three years ago, she knew very little English but was determined to get an education. Carrying a full course load, working part time, and volunteering at the CAPS, she managed to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA...and a 2011 Transfer Scholarship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
