HOLYOKE, MA - HCC held on tight to an early 1-0 lead against Bunker Hill CC this afternoon just long enough to grab their 10th win overall and remain perfect against regional competition.

In the 18th minute of play, freshman midfielder Jenn Galindo (Chicopee) sent a ball up the field that would make its way to sophomore forward Amanda Grant (Westfield), helping her earn her 10th goal of the season.  The "dirty toe ball" goal gave Galindo her team best 8th assist and the Cougars an early 1-0 advantage.

Strong performances from sophomores Amanda Cummings (Agawam) and Aubrey Romani (Ludlow) helped preserve the one goal lead until time ran out in the match.  Goalkeeper Malynda Riopelle's (Springfield) second shutout of the season gave the Cougars their 7th team shutout overall.

The Cougars, who are currently ranked 6th in the NJCAA Division III poll, host Mt. Holyoke in a non-regional match tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
