October 23, 2011

Manchester celebrates after winning 2011 New England title gameManchester Defeats Holyoke 2-0 in Regional Final

HOLYOKE, MA - Two early goals by Manchester held up long enough for the Cougars (MCC) to be crowned champions of Region 21 in 2011 NJCAA Division III women's soccer.  Holyoke was not able to get much going offensively this afternoon and could not dig out of the early 2-0 deficit.

Sophomore midfielder Jenna Allison scored her first of two goals right out of the gate in the 4th minute.  Allison would follow up with another goal in the 13th minute that was headed over the HCC goalkeeper's hands for her third goal of the tournament.

HCC finishes their 2011 season with an excellent overall record of 13-4 and 9-1 in Region 21.  The Cougars (HCC) have a very talented freshman class that is expected to return in 2012, making for a positive outlook on next season.
