Olson has been a major part of the Cougar's defense all year posting 7 shut-outs.  Today, however, Olson scored her first career college goal in the second half.

Seven Score in Women's Soccer Shut-Out


(Fall River, MA) With the New England Championships on the horizon, seven players recorded goals in a 12-0 win at Bristol Community College this afternoon.  The ladies improved their record to 11-4-0 overall while remaining undefeated in Division III Region 21 play (7-0-0).  The Cougar's leading scoring Nikki Callini of West Springfield, MA led the way with a hat trick and tallied two assists. Devon Wolfenden (East Longmeadow, MA), Tai Lopez (Springfield, MA), and Krisry Cominoli (Northfield, MA) all had two goals an an assist each. Tyler Lendon (Springfield, MA) and Bre Line (Ludlow, MA) also chipped in to score a goal each, while Lysangeli Zavala (2 assists; Chicopee, MA), Jess Teodore (Southwick, MA), Tina Mullin (Chicopee, MA),and Norma Reyes (Springfield, MA) all were credited with assists on the Holyoke goals.  

Goaltender Amanda Olson (3 saves; Hadley, MA), with the help of Lopez and Emily Langlois of Agawam, MA (1 save each), recorded the 7th Cougar shutout of the season.  Olson also also scored her first career college goal as she came out of net for the second half following a 4-0 halftime lead.  

The Cougars remain perfect in regional play and look forward to taking on Bunker Hill Community College this Wednesday in final preparation before the New England Championships on Saturday October 26th.  The Cougars will play either Massasoit Community College or rival Springfield Technical Community College on neutral turf at Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York.

Callini's performance today has moved her to number eight on the scoring list (19 goals) for Division III women's soccer.  Lopez (13 goals) currently is ranked 22nd while Teodore (11 goals) sits at number 33.  Olson is among the top ranked goaltenders (#15) for save percentage (.850%).  Holyoke's high-powered offense, taking 15 shots today, is currently ranked #5 in the country with 71 goals in 15 games, an average of 4.7 goals a game with 67 assists (4.46 assists/game).
