3-0 Win in final regular season home contest

(Holyoke, MA)  Women's soccer took on Springfield Technical Community College this Wednesday evening in their last regular season home game.  The Cougar's were looking to sweep STCC after previously beating STCC 2-0 on the road. Wednesday's matchup was the last home game for the four returning Cougar's from the 2012 campaign.  Tai Lopez (Springfield, MA), Bre Line (Ludlow, MA), Kristy Cominoli (Northfield, MA), and Tyler Lendon (Springfield, MA) all had strong games leading the Cougar's to a 3-0 shutout win to finish with an undefeated 6-0-0 record in Region 21 Division III play.

The shutout was the 6th posted by first year keeper Amanda Olson (5 saves).  Much credit can be given to the strong defensive play of captain Kristy Cominoli who was possibly the Cougar's best player on the field Wednesday evening.  Tyler Lendon closed out her career with a solid performance and an assist on Nikki Callini's (West Springfield, MA) first half goal.  Notching the score at 1-0, the second half put the game out of reach for Springfield.

The Cougar's received great contributions from Jess Teodore (Southwick, MA) who scored off an assist from Emily Langlois (Agawam, MA) in the second half of play.  With a 2-0 lead, Tai Lopez, a threat all game, put her mark on the board scoring off a Lysangeli Zavala (Chicopee, MA) assist.  HCC received contributions from multi-dimensional player Bre Line, playing in three different positions throughout the contest and helping the Cougars to 10 shots on goal.  Finishing the game with a final score of 3-0, the Cougar's remain perfect in the region.  They will travel this Saturday, October 19th to Bristol for a 1PM kick off.
