Holyoke Community College president William Messner and Westfield State University president Elizabeth Preston signed an agreement Tuesday that will make is easier for HCC students who earn their associate degrees online to transfer to online bachelor's degree programs in business administration, criminal justice, liberal arts and sciences, psychology and sociology at Westfield State University.

"This is an agreement between two institutions that have a very long and rich history," said Messner. "I don't think it's a secret that Westfield is the number one transfer institution for students moving on from HCC. Annually, we transfer several hundred students to Westfield, and we've been doing that for a long time. This agreement builds on that history."
