(Holyoke, MA) Friday evening 29 schools from around the country gathered at the Bartley Center on the Holyoke Community College campus for a recognition banquet of those attending the Division III NJCAA National Cross Country Championships. The event was run at Northfield Mountain Recreation Center on Saturday November 9th.
The evening featured guest speaker David Shoehalter, the Mark T. Young '68 Director of Track and Field at Yale University. He is in his 20th season at Yale, is the president of the Ivy League Coaches Association, IC4A Association, and an NCAA Division I executive committee member. In his closing remarks, Coach Shoehalter stated, "Embrace your nerves, excitement, and enjoy it! Tomorrow, when the gun goes off, hurry back!"
