Holyoke Community College will be open on Tuesday, September 24, with classes following the regular Tuesday schedule.
The college was closed on Monday, September 23 in response to a threatening communication. State Police are investigating the matter and are in close contact with campus administration regarding the status of the investigation.
At approximately 6:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, HCC administrators were notified by Campus Police that the college was in receipt of a threatening communication. The Massachusetts State Police were immediately notified and are conducting an investigation. Following standard college protocols and out of an abundance of caution, the college closed the main campus on Homestead Avenue for the day. This includes all day and evening classes and activities.
Online students may continue to access their classes on Moodle.
HCC classes and activities at The Picknelly Adult & Family Education Center, 206 Maple St., in downtown Holyoke, and the HCC Ludlow Area Adult Learning Center (54 Winsor St., second floor, Ludlow) remain open.
