Hampden-Hampshire CVTE Linkages Career Fair
A breakthrough renewable energy company will be among the Western Mass businesses showcased at the annual career exploration fair, sponsored by the Hampden-Hampshire CVTE (Career Vocational Technical Education) Linkages Consortium, a collaboration of Holyoke Community College and Springfield Technical Community College.

FloDesign Wind Turbine Corp. utilizes aerospace technologies to develop compact, high-efficiency wind turbines and other devices. The company recently closed a $34.5 million Series B financing round and was also awarded an $8.3 million grant as part of the US Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (“ARPA-E”) program.

More than 500 students from 13 consortium high schools will explore the interactive exhibits created by FloDesign and 40 other area companies and organizations from the science, technology, engineering, manufacturing, and clean energy sectors. Wonder how astronauts deal with bodily waste in space? Hamilton Standard will explain with a display of the space suits they create for NASA. The media is invited to come capture the excitement!

Join us for a visit by David Horovitz, author and editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post, Israel’s largest English-language daily. Sponsored by the Social Science Division at HCC, Horovitz's talk is free and open to the public, and serves as a kick-off for HCC's National Holocaust Month speaker series that begins in April.

Adult learners prepare for college - A FREE course!
This class consists of 12+ class hours a week, plus extensive mentor/tutor hours outside of class. Classes meet at HCC - Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Students will receive instruction in reading, writing, math and pre-algebra, basic science, and computer and study skills that will help them succeed in college-level courses. The class will be taught in English in a supportive environment. Bilingual counseling will be available in English and/or Spanish

It is for those over 18 who have graduated from high school five or more years ago or who have earned a GED at any time.
