FloDesign Wind Turbine Corp. utilizes aerospace
technologies to develop compact, high-efficiency
wind turbines and other devices. The company
recently closed a $34.5 million Series B financing
round and was also awarded an $8.3 million grant
as part of the US Department of Energy’s
Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy
(“ARPA-E”) program.
More than 500 students from 13 consortium high
schools will explore the interactive exhibits
created by FloDesign and 40 other area companies
and organizations from the science, technology,
engineering, manufacturing, and clean energy
sectors. Wonder how astronauts deal with bodily
waste in space? Hamilton Standard will explain
with a display of the space suits they create
