| Degree
& from where it was received:
BS in Nursing from Georgetown
University
MS in Nursing from The
University of Connecticut.
Courses you teach: Nursing as it
relates to self-care across the lifespan with a clinical focus on
Pediatrics.
Accomplishments (personal or professional):
I have worked at HCC for 15 years, which means I have experienced
many changes of faculty & curriculum. I value the continued
quality of the Nursing program, to which I have contributed, &
the fact that we continue to serve the community with our many successful
graduates.
Favorite thing about teaching: Meeting
new learners each semester, who help me refine my style.
Memorable moment at HCC: My most
memorable moment happened in the clinical setting. I witnessed a
four year old African American patient with asthma awaken to see
her African American student nurse at her bedside. This was a wonderful
mentoring moment for this child and a reminder of the value of my
work.
Teaching philosophy: Pedagogy is
very important. Continuing to learn from students is equally important.
