Mark Lawson '92 earned his B.S. at Westfield State College in Management Information Systems. Mark then earned an M.S. in Information Management at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2003.
Mark credits his success to the strong foundation and learning culture he experienced during his days at HCC. He worked at the HCC Library and Audio/Visual Department from 1990 to 1994. It was at this time he took advantage of the valuable resources the library and college had to offer. He considers the library staff an extension of his family and regularly visits them to see how the current students are leveraging what the library has to offer.
At the age of 38, Mark has more than 15 years of senior management experience in the world of information technology. Currently, Mark works for EMC Consulting, the 5th Largest Technology Service and Solution Company in the world. As a Senior Consultant/Enterprise Architect, Mark has traveled to client locations in Japan, England, and Australia, providing leadership in technology services for Fortune 100 Pharmaceutical Companies.
Mark has kept a strong relationship with Holyoke Community College and especially with the Library staff. He focuses his donation efforts around enabling the library to stay relevant in the information age. Ten years ago he donated first-generation eBook readers to introduce the future of how people would consume literary content. Currently, Mark donates material and subject area content to the library's technology collection to enable students to prepare for technology careers.
