HCC Track Athlete to Compete at NJCAA Nationals

James Moriarty of the track and field team thows the javelin

Just one year after hosting the NJCAA Track & Field National Championships, Holyoke CC will send one of our own athletes to the 2017 NJCAA National Championships. This year's event will be hosted by Howard CC of Columbia, Maryland on May 11th through 13th.

The Cougars have competed in several events throughout April and have performed exceptionally in each event. James Moriarty (South Hadley, MA / South Hadley HS), who throws javelin and shot put, has been outstanding all season and by way of his remarkable results has qualified to compete at the national tournament. Fellow thrower Angel Saez (Springfield, MA / Science & Tech HS) has performed well alongside teammate Moriarty. First year head coaches Nick Davis and Luke Archambault have guided the team this year.

Good luck to James Moriarty at the 2017 NJCAA Track & Field National Championships! Let's go Cougars!!
