ABE Transition to College & Careers (ABE TCC) is a free, non-credit program offered both day and evenings that helps adult students 18+ prepare for college and identify a career path. Includes intensive academic preparation in English reading and writing, math, study strategies and computers in a college context in a supportive learning community environment. Bilingual student support, career counseling, tutoring and mentoring are integral parts of our program.

A separate program, Bridge to ABE TCC, is offered to learners who need additional help before beginning the ABE TCC program. ABE TCC welcomes all adult students to apply.
Classes meet both on the HCC campus and at the Picknelly Adult and Family Education Center (PAFEC), located at 206 Maple Street in Holyoke.
Days: MWF, 9:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. on the HCC campus
Evenings: T & Th, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at PAFEC
Transportation is available via HCC's free shuttle service, La Guagua. If you're going to the PAFEC, all Holyoke buses go to the Transportation Center located below the PAFEC. There is also garage parking, metered street parking, and limited free parking nearby. A fee is charged until 5 p.m.
Applicants must have completed a HiSet (anytime) or have a high school diploma from at least four years ago; be at least 18-years-old (there is no maximum age); and be planning to enter college to pursue a certificate or degree after completing the program. Application to ABE TCC consists of a phone interview and an in-person interview, followed by an assessment of your reading, writing, and math skills, and an Accuplacer test. Acceptance is based on your academic skills, motivation, and level of commitment. There is no fee to apply and the program is free for all accepted students.
