Transfer to Westfield State University

FIRST DEGREE a reverse transfer partnership established by Holyoke Community College and  Westfield State University.

The First Degree Program is a reverse transfer partnership between Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University for those students who transferred to WSU before they completed their assoicates' degree, but have earned at least 30 credits at HCC. These students may be eligible to complete outstanding associates degree requirements while simultaneously working towards completion of the bachelors degree.

The Presidents' MassTransfer Program caps the combined cost of in-state tuition and mandatory fees for both an associate's degree at HCC and a bachelor's degree at WSU at no more than $30,000. HCC students must graduate from a designated degree program and transfer directly to a linked bachelor's degree program at WSU. Check here for a complete list of programs.

Students must sign up (usoing the form below) to participate in the program before they have accumulated 30 credits towards graduation. First-year students enrolled in any of the designated degree programs are encouraged to sign up early. The participation form must also accompany the student's application to Westfield State University and be signed by the Coordinator of Transfer Affairs, Mark Broadbent (FR 273).

Holyoke Community College and Westfield State Univetrsity Division of Graduate and Continuing Education have created a new agreement for online students called MassTransfer Plus. This new program guarantees qualifiying students admissions to WSU online degree-completion program, provided they complete the associates degree program, including the 34 credit MassTransfer Block, with at least a 2.5 QPA, before enrolling at WSU.
