Deaf Culture Fairy Tales
Author Roslyn Rosen, a well-known educator and advocate, will talk about her new book, Deaf Culture Fairy Tales, a collection of Deaf-centric twists on classic fairy tales and fables, as well as LEAD-K (Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids), a national campaign to get Deaf children ready for kindergarten.
A discussion and book signing will follow the presentation and books will be available for purchase.
Roslyn Rosen, Ed.D., was born to a Deaf family in the Bronx. Now retired, Rosen is the former director of the National Center for Deafness at California State University at Northridge and a former faculty member, dean and vice president of Academic Affairs at Gallaudet University.
A portion of the proceeds from book sales benefits LEAD-K.
