Scholarship Gala

DATE: Thursday, May 10, 2018

TIME: 11:00 a.m.

LOCATION: PeoplesBank Gymnasium, HCC Bartley Center for Athletics and Recreation

The Holyoke Community College Foundation awards nearly $250,000 in scholarships every year to deserving students. The scholarships are made possible through the generosity of alumni, friends of the college, faculty members, trustees and community-minded corporations and individuals. The commitment to the college has allowed nearly 2,000 students to continue their educational dreams over the past 15 years.

The HCC Alumni Association, through the Foundation, also administers scholarships to students from diverse backgrounds.

This year the Foundation and Alumni Association together awarded a record 223 scholarships to current, incoming and graduating HCC students.

On Thursday, May 10, beginning at 11 a.m. in the HCC Bartley Center, the HCC Foundation and Alumni Association will recognize the scholarship recipients for the 2018-2019 academic year along with the donors whose generosity makes those scholarships possible.

Short introduction and remarks will be offered by Amanda Sbriscia, executive director of the HCC Foundation; Francis M. Kane '56, chair of the scholarship committee; and HCC president Christina Royal.

The keynote speech will be delivered by graduating HCC student Matthew Medina '18, recipient of the Roger and Caroline Putnam Scholarship.

Lunch will follow the scholarship awards presentations in the gym.
