Cougars Triumphant at Home
Baseball Wins First of Doubleheader
(Holyoke, MA) - The Cougars earned a 9-6 home win over regional opponent CC of Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon. Holyoke hosted CCRI for a double header, claiming the win in the first game. The Cougars used a seven-run fourth inning to catapult them to victory.
Holyoke was impressive at the plate in the win, hitting three home runs. Jason Couture (Agawam, MA / Agawam HS) led the way for the Cougars, batting 3 for 4 while launching a pair of home runs. Couture drove in an impressive six RBIs and scored two runs. Zackary Jenks (Belchertown, MA / Belchertown HS) hit the other homer for Holyoke and pitcher Anthony Rosado-Burgos (Holyoke, MA / Holyoke HS) earned the win from the mound. Rosado-Burgos struck out four batters over six innings on way to his and the team's second victory of the season. Jake Chaplin (Enfield, CT / Enfield HS) earned the save, his second of the campaign.
The Cougars are 2-7 overall and 2-5 regionally. They will play regional opponent Quinsigamond CC in their next home game on Thursday, April 21st at 3:30pm. Let's go Cougars!
