Cougars Track & Field Athlete Qualifies for Nationals

Dias to Represent HCC at NJCAA DIII Championships

(New Haven, CT) - Cougars Track & Field athlete Jacob Dias (Ludlow, MA / Ludlow HS) has qualified to participate in the 2022 NJCAA Men's & Women's Track & Field Championships. Dias will compete in the 400 meter hurdles at the national event being held from May 12th to 14th at Hudson Valley CC in Troy, NY.

Dias qualified for the national tournament by way of his time of 1:00.89 in the 400 meter hurdles at the Mark Young Invitational held at Yale University on April 23rd. His time placed Dias 5th in the event where he competed against several runners from four-year universities.

The men's 400 meter hurdles trials at the Track & Field Championships will be held on the event's second day, May 13th, at 5:15pm. The finals will take place the following day, May 14th, at 2:25pm. Dias will represent the Cougars proudly as the lone HCC participant against athletes from throughout the country. Let's go Cougars!
