Women’s Volleyball Claims Third Straight
Lady Cougars Climbing Regional Standings
(Holyoke, MA) - Women's volleyball notched their third consecutive straight-set regional win during the first game of a home tri-match on Saturday morning. The Lady Cougars defeated Mass Bay CC, placing them comfortably in the top four in the regional standings. Staying in the top four is critical for Holyoke as only these teams qualify for the New England Championship Tournament at season's end. The Cougars took on New Hampshire Technical Institute in a non-NJCAA game in their second contest of the day, playing well despite failing to produce a victory.
Holyoke received a strong team performance in the tri-match with all members of the group contributing throughout the contests. Returning second-year players Kayla Nguyen (Springfield, MA / Sci-Tech HS) and Carly Chambers (Jiangsu Taizhou, China / West Springfield HS) led the way vocally and with their play on the court.
The Lady Cougars have a 4-5 regional record and a 4-6 overall record. They play away on Tuesday before hosting Quinsigamond CC this Saturday, October 8th at 1pm. Let's go Cougars!
