Athletic Achievements of the Past Academic Year
10/28/19 (Holyoke, MA)
Lady Cougars soccer captures the New England Championship, the program's eighth in a row and 12th in the past 14 years, defeating Bristol CC in a penalty kick shootout. After 110 minutes of play, penalty kicks were needed to break the 0-0 tie where the Cougars emerged victorious by a 5-4 shootout score. This was the first time in program history that the Cougars went into a penalty kick shootout in the regional championship game. Women's soccer finished the season with a 10-4-2 NJCAA Division III record, a 10-1-1 regional record and a 10-6-3 overall record.

2/15, 2/18 & 2/20/20 (Brockton, MA / Haverhill, MA / Springfield, MA)
Men's basketball wins their last three regular season games to clinch a postseason playoff birth. Sophomore forward Michael Castillo reaches 1000 career points during the regular season finale. The Cougars finish the season with a 12-9 record in the New England region and a 12-12 record overall. The dozen wins are the most by an HCC men's basketball team in over a decade.

10/21 & 10/22/19 (Holyoke, MA)
Lady Cougars volleyball is victorious in consecutive must-win home games to clinch a postseason playoff spot. The Cougars needed wins in their final two regular season games to qualify for the New England Championship Tournament and defeated Mass Bay CC 3-0 and then Quinsigamond CC 3-2 to earn their way into the postseason. Women's volleyball finished the season 4-7 overall and in the region.

11/2/19 (Holyoke & Westfield, MA)
The Holyoke CC Athletic Department successfully hosted the Division III NJCAA Cross Country Championships this past weekend. The national event was the third in a row hosted by HCC. Nearly 400 male and female athletes from over 80 NJCAA schools from around the country participated in the events.

11/23/19 (Holyoke, MA)
Lady Cougars basketball earned their first win of the year early in the season playing at home in the friendly surroundings of the Bartley Center. The Cougars defeated regional opponent Roxbury CC, giving first year head coach Joseph Paige his first win on the same day that he was inducted into the Springfield Public School's Sports Hall of Fame.

10/12/19 (Holyoke, MA)
Men's Soccer put forth their largest offensive output of the season, scoring six goals on their way to a regional home win. The Cougars were led by freshman forward Musa Jiana, who scored a hat trick in the 6-3 win. Jiana went on to lead the team in goals and points at season's end.

Six members of the 2019 Lady Cougars soccer team have been named to the All-New England (All-Region) Team. Both sophomore captains and four freshmen achieved the great honor, with three players selected to the first-team and three to the second-team.

Two members of the 2019-20 Cougars men's basketball team have been selected to the All-New England (All-Region) Team. Both athletes were selected to the first-team and both additionally received Cougars basketball team awards.

A pair of freshman Lady Cougars volleyball players have earned honors for the 2019 season. Each was selected to the All-New England (All-Region) Team and one received team MVP honors.

Three freshmen members of the 2019 Cougars men's soccer team have earned awards. Two players were named to the All-New England (All-Region) Team, one of whom, along with the third, earned Cougars Soccer team awards.

2/8/20 (Holyoke, MA)
Cougars basketball earns a colossal home win over the New England region's first place team as part of a three-game winning streak. The win over CC of Rhode Island was the Cougars' fifth victory in their past six regional games and saw Holyoke match a season-high for three-pointers scored in a game.

10/2 & 10/3/20 (Lincoln, RI & Holyoke, MA)
Women's soccer registered consecutive shutouts on back-to-back days, giving them four straight shutouts and a season-high eight-game unbeaten streak. The Lady Cougars held their opponents scoreless six times over the course of the streak and ended the season with ten total shutouts.

9/19/19 (Holyoke, MA)
Women's volleyball started the season off in positive fashion, serving up a victory on their home court. The Lady Cougars defeated Bunker Hill CC in straight sets to start the season off on the right foot.

9/7/19 (Haverhill, MA)
Cougars soccer kicked the season off with a 1-0 double-overtime victory. Holyoke travelled to Northern Essex CC, earning a regional shutout victory to open the year.

1/23/20 (Holyoke, MA)
Women's basketball started the second half of their season with a home-court win. The Lady Cougars defeated regional opponent Quinsigamond CC to get the campaign rolling again after winter break.
