Lady Cougars Volleyball Players Earn Honors
Pair of Freshmen Named All-New England
A pair of Lady Cougars volleyball players have earned honors for the 2019 season. Both freshman, they were selected to the All-New England (All-Region) Team.
Kate Tempest (Springfield, MA / Sabis HS) - Freshman - Setter - #4
2019 - 2nd Team All-New England, Lady Cougars Most Valuable Player
Tempest was the Lady Cougars lone true setter, playing the position to perfection. A smart player who reads the game very well, the Lady Cougars team MVP dictated the pace of play for her team. Tempest has a great touch on the ball, leading the Cougars in assists, most of which came off of her brilliant sets. She is a hard working individual who showed great commitment and dedication, practicing as hard as any player on the team on a daily basis.
Aysha Miller (Springfield, MA / Chicopee HS) - Freshman - Middle - #9 / #13
2019 - 2nd Team - All-New England
Miller was the Lady Cougars' most dominant presence with her height, strength and jumping ability. She possesses an extremely powerful serve and can spike the ball with massive pace. Miller came up with several important defensive blocks throughout the year and led the Cougars in kills and points.
