The certificate prepares students to pursue entry-level employment in the field of accounting. Credits earned through the certificate program may also be applied toward the A.S. in Accounting. The majority of the certificate program requirements may be taken online. Upon graduating from this program, students will be able to analyze and record accounting transactions, accurately prepare financial statements, and operate accounting information systems.
The A.S. in Accounting equips students to analyze and interpret basic financial statements, evaluate accounting data, and integrate the disciplines of accounting and management and evaluate accounting data. Upon graduating from this program, students will possess the skills needed to secure a full-charge bookkeeper position.
