The Taber Gallery exhibit features artwork by students from six area high schools

The Taber Art Gallery is currently exhibiting work from high school artists.

HCC's Taber Art Gallery will host an exhibit featuring art created by students from area high schools, Nov. 20 through Dec. 14.

The gallery is exhibiting artwork from more than 70 students from six area high schools: Longmeadow, Palmer, South Hadley, Granby, Northampton and West Springfield.

"The intent of this exhibition is to encourage and reward the many serious high school art students in this area and to acknowledge the character and value of their work," said Amy Johnquest, Taber Art Gallery director. "It is also a great opportunity for young artists to develop a sense of what it is like to exhibit their work in a professional setting."

There will be a reception for the artists Thurs., Nov. 30, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. (Snow date: Thurs., Dec. 7)

The Taber Art Gallery at HCC is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during regular school sessions. It is free and open to the public and located through the HCC Campus Library lobby on the second floor of the HCC Donahue Building, 303 Homestead Ave., Holyoke.
