Looking for a career that is varied, exciting and in-demand? Want to be challenged and inspired? HCC's nursing program prepares professionals to care for people in illness and health, throughout the life cycle. Students learn in our new, state-of-the-art Center for Health Education, in multi-media-equipped classrooms and advanced simulation labs. Our faculty members are skilled practitioners, teachers and mentors who are dedicated to your success. HCC students learn on state of the art equipment—including the same patient simulators found at elite medical universities—and our community-centered approach combines liberal and technical education within the college and in hands-on practicums at regional health care providers.
HCC offers two different nursing programs:
The year-long Practical Nursing (PN) certificate program prepares students to take the NCLEX-PN exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The two year Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program prepares students to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become a registered nurse.

HCC has developed a unique curriculum in which students in both the PN and ADN programs learn together during the first academic year. The PN's enter the workforce after the first year, while the ADNs continue through their senior year. This structure enables the LPN's to later apply for a seamless re-entry into the second year of nursing if they wish to become a registered nurse.
Please note that acceptance to the ADN and PN programs is competitive, and space is limited in both programs. All applicants must attend one of our monthly information sessions. The deadline for application each year is February 1. Ready to get started? Go here to apply.
