Picknelly Adult & Family Education Center

Located at 206 Maple Street, the Picknelly Adult & Family Education Center (PAFEC) was established by members of the Juntos Collaborative, Holyoke Public Schools, and Holyoke Community College to provide Holyoke residents with adult basic education and related services in an easily accessible location.

The center offers:

  • High school equivalency preparation and testing (HiSET/GED)
  • Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes
  • Free and low-cost basic computer and software classes in English and Spanish
  • Career Counseling
  • Workforce development classes
  • Tutoring and mentoring
  • The Community Education Project, which offers educational counseling and referral services, as well as legal, medical, housing, and personal advocacy
  • Holyoke Tutor Mentor Program
  • Holyoke Public Schools Opportunity Academy
  • Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission
  • Thrive Financial Success Center

gill community technology center

A center to promote technology literacy and support the education and workforce programming of the Picknelly Adult & Family Education Center, the Gill Technology Center offers free and low cost basic computer and software classes in English and Spanish. It also provides free open sessions for the general public, lab space for adult basic education and English for Speakers of Other Languages classes, and High School Equivalency preparation.
