We get it—juggling college with a job and family is challenging! That's why we offer classes that you can attend on your schedule, online or hybrid, and with flexible start dates.

Get credit for life experience! Because many of our adult students have work experience that relates to their course of study, we offer credit for prior learning that can cut your courseload by offering credit for your knowledge and experience.

Connecting with other adult students and staff who understand your needs can make all the difference. HCC's Marieb Adult Learner Success Center for Adult Learners program serves a wide range of new and returning adult students, including those who have been out of school for many years. Marieb Adult Learner Success Center staff will help you navigate the college admissions process and provides support as you transition to college life. Our goal is to help you define your career and educational goals, be successful at HCC, and, if you choose, identify opportunities for transfer to a four-year college or university.

Want to prepare a little more before you start? Transition to College & Careers is a free program that helps adult students 18+ prepare for college and identify a career path.

Your life experience is valuable! You may be able to apply that knowledge towards earning your certificate or college degree on campus or online. Explore credit for prior learning options!

HCC also offers resources and special advising for veterans, active duty military personnel, their spouses, and children.


Marieb Adult Learner Success Center for Adult Learners serves students age 24 and older, parents, and veterans, including those who have been out of school for many years.
