The Student Senate represents the voice of the students to the administration of the college. We provide and promote a partnership in governance among all segments of the college community. Throughout the year, the Senate plans and participates in activities and events that contribute to the college and the surrounding community.

I am currently enrolled in the program Transition to College & Careers (TCC). I serve as the Vice President of Student Senate. Also, I am a member of the Mental Health Task Force, the Equity/Diversity/Inclusion Committee, and the Safety Task Force. I lead the Adult Learners Club. I am passionated about social justice; anti-racist practices; equity, diversity, and inclusion; human rights; restorative justice; criminal justice; politics; adult learners; self-advocacy; and leadership opportunities. I am currently majoring in Music. I am the Secretary of Student Senate, and have held other leadership roles in past semesters. I'm back at HCC to finish my degree after a break to have my children! I am a member of the Equity/Diversity/Inclusion Committee and Hispanic Leadership Committee. Talk to me about diversity, Hispanic/Latinx enrollment, and music.
I am a computer science major with a concentration in website development. I serve on the Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Committee, Campus Safety Task Force, and Student Advisory Council. Some of my goals as Trustee are to implement inclusivity initiatives within New Student Orientation and to provide student-oriented insight on the campus mental health goals. I facilitate a weekly group for time-management skills (BuJo Social Hour). I am also a published author, and in my spare time run a successful blog with a charity component. I am currently majoring in Hospitality Management and transferring to the University of Massachusetts Amherst in fall 2021 majoring in Hospitality & Tourism Management. I graduated from Connecticut Culinary Institute in 2005 and have been a chef for the last 15 years. I came to HCC to learn how to open and operate my future restaurant "Waugh's." I'm a member of: Instructional Technology Committee, Equity & Diversity Focus Group, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, SHOUTS Mentor, DUDE Founding Mentor, NSO Leader, Emerging Business Leader Club, Creative Writing Club, New Directions, TRIO Program. Hi! I am an activist, artist, and liberal arts major planning to transfer to either Columbia, Princeton, or Smith in 2021! I'm originally from Boston and a first generation college student. My interests currently lie in law, human rights, politics, social justice, and anti-rape/anti-DV/anti-human trafficking work. In addition to student senate, I am chapter chair of HCC's MassPIRG and DJ/news coordinator/music manager for WCCH 103.5FM. I am also involved with the honors program, Rainbow Forward, and TRIO. I will heading HCC's Hunger & Homelessness campaign for the Spring 2021 semester as well! Talk to me about: racial diversity, domestic violence/abuse resources, immigration, politics (I just finished working on one of the US presidential campaigns!), queer issues, transferring, how to get more involved in activism, etc. :)

I am the Student Engagement Coordinator and have been at HCC for 15 years in many different roles. My background is in psychology, non-profit management, and leadership development. I teach Intro to Sociology, am the Advisor for the Student Senate, and serve as chair in planning HCC's graduation ceremony.
