ALANA Men in Motion
The ALANA Men in Motion Program provides personalized attention to men of color at HCC.
ALANA is an affinity-based student services program which offers inclusive academic support, mentoring, and community building to cultivate the academic success of men of color at HCC. It provides its participants with personalized attention and support with their academics, financial aid, and academic/career planning. The ALANA program follows a college mentoring model designed to pair students with professional mentors that can assist in a student's growth.
PRIMARY SERVICES:
- Personalized mentoring or coaching
- Academic skills and personal development workshops
- Assistance with financial aid and scholarship applications
- Student group meetings or activities aimed at community building
- Educational, cultural, enrichment field trips
- Leadership development opportunities
- Support towards graduation, transfer, or career
